What is window tinting?

Window tinting is the application of a specially-designed film to the windows in your car, home, or boat. The most common kinds of window tinting products block out a portion of the sunlight that comes in through the windows, protecting the interior space from UV light and making it cooler inside. Window tinting also is often used to provide privacy and make it difficult to see from the outside in. There are many other benefitsĀ of window tinting and itĀ is an extremely versatile process that can be customized to meet your needs.

How is window tinting done?

At Window Tinting Folsom, we use a top-quality, industry leading brand of window film such as 3M and, using our specialized equipment, apply it evenly and accurately to your windows. If you want your car windows tinted, we prefer to do automotive window tinting at our location because it is so essential to control for dust and dirt in order to get the perfect window tinting application.

For residential window tinting and marine window tinting we will travel to your home or your boat. We will clean the interior of your windows to ensure that the tinting film sticks evenly, and we will make sure to apply it without errors or bubbles. You will need to be careful not to rub or bump your windows for the next few days after the tinting is done in order not to move the film or damage the adhesive. As the window tinting dries and cures you may notice bubbles beginning to form; these are simply moisture pockets that appear as the film dries. Do not touch them and they will disappear within a few days.
